The Centre is particularly pleased to have on display within the Lichfield Story Exhibition (until 5th September inc.) the work of Lichfield's Dolls House & Miniaturists Club - otherwise known as the 1/12th Club.
This local group produce the most amazing and intricate workmanship incorporated in models of homes, shops, gardens, churches plus lots more. Everything is to a 1/12th scale. Imagine the tiny scissors in the haberdashery shop, along with all the other items of stock.
The display features over 25 miniatures, including, just to mention a few:

KIDS GO FREE – SPECIAL OFFER UNTIL 5TH SEPTEMBER
Beat the recession with this special offer - all children under the age of 16 can tour the Exhibition for Free during the summer school hols. Plus, the reduction in the admission fee for adults to only £2.00 means the cost of a family ticket has been slashed to only £4.00 – half the usual cost.

HERITAGE WEEKEND – 18TH & 19TH SEPTEMBER
Lots of special activities will be taking place over the weekend in the City and particularly on the Market Square. The Heritage Centre will step back in time to the 1940’s.
The Exhibition will be open free of charge and there will be lots to see and do for adults and children including craft activities, games to play, an exhibition of 1940’s memorabilia and costumed characters telling their stories.
The ground floor Coffee Shop will have 1940’s specials – not sure what these will be as we’ve yet to work out our ration coupons.

SUNDAY 19TH ONLY – ‘SWING ON SUNDAY’
Local vocalist Simon Partridge performs classics and swing numbers from the 1940’s. If you can’t resist the urge then please feel free to dance. Members of the Lichfield Folk Dance group may be ‘jitterbugging’ as well.

EMBEZZLEMENT, FRAUD & RUIN – SUNDAY 10TH OCTOBER
The fascinating story of the 1856 Lichfield Bank Crash. Costumed
re-enactors bring this story of fraud, theft and ruin to life. Tickets are priced at £3.50 for adults & £1.00 for children and are available from the Admin Office on 23rd August. The short performances will take place in the Lichfield Story exhibition area and the ticket price allows for touring the exhibition.
Performances will be at 11.00am, 12 noon, 1.30pm & 2.30pm.
The Spire Viewing Platform will also be open on this day (usual prices apply).

HALF TERM FUN – WED. 27TH & THURS. 28TH OCTOBER
Our very popular activity workshops return for this school holiday. Application forms and details will be available nearer the time. The workshops are fully supervised and are led by local artist Mary Bailey. Cost is £10.00 per child aged 7 or over. Please bring along a packed lunch as the workshop is from 10.00am – 3.00pm.

VICTORIAN CHRISTMAS – FRIDAY 3RD DECEMBER
An evening of Victorian style entertainment. Music, song, poetry, drama, dance and lots of audience participation. Mulled wine and seasonal refreshments included in the ticket price of £6.00 adults, £3.00 children. Tickets will be available from 25th October. Booking essential.
