Mayor and Sheriff
On Thursday, 16 July, Councillor Mark Warfield, Mayor of Lichfield for 2008-9 and Councillor Mrs Norma Bacon, Sheriff of Lichfield for 2008-9 presented representatives of their nominated charities with the proceeds of fundraising during their year of office. A cheque for £1,709 each was presented to Lichfield and District Talking Newspapers and Voluntary Transport for the Disabled. During their year in office they raised money for their respective charities through a variety of fundraising initiatives including a Valentine's Night Charity Ball, charity concerts and barn dance. Mark and Norma would both like to say a huge thank you to various local organisations who helped them in their efforts including; Nether Stowe School Big Band, Abdul Salam, and Lichfield Singers, not forgetting all those who contributed to the fundraising by coming along to support the events.
