Civic Officer – Lichfield City Council

FULL TIME, PERMANENT POSITION

37 Hours/week SCP 18 to 22 (currently £24,982 - £27,041 p.a.)

Lichfield City Council is one of the largest Parish Councils in the Country and has a busy Civic schedule.

We are looking for a proactive, forward-thinking individual to provide comprehensive support to the Mayor, Deputy Mayor and Sheriff of Lichfield to promote their civic roles, implement a programme of events and manage the Civic diary.

The Civic Officer requires a perfect balance of administrative skills and operational event expertise. Attention to detail is a key attribute for the successful candidate who will thrive on the diverse types of events and enjoy being involved in the planning and delivery of the ceremony of civic events.

This is a challenging and varied post, working closely with Civic dignitaries and senior council officers. You will be required to work to tight deadlines and will need to remain professional and maintain high levels of confidentiality and discretion at all times with some evening and weekend work Your varied tasks will include arranging and running events, drafting speeches, and organising and updating databases. You will liaise with venues, caterers, photographers, and suppliers, compiling guest lists, table plans and ordering supplies.
