Mayor and Sheriff's Charity Cheque Presentation
On Monday 17 July, the former Mayor & Mayoress of Lichfield, Cllr Jamie Checkland and Stephanie Checkland , accompanied by the former Sheriff, Janice Greaves and Consort, Keith Greaves, presented cheques in the Mayor’s Parlour to representatives of their nominated charities.
During their year in office, the former Mayor and Sheriff raised £10,001.52 which was distributed between their two chosen charities, ‘The Sebbie Hall Kindness Foundation’ & ‘Pathway Project’.
Sebbie Hall representing the Kindness Foundation and Wendy Dee from Pathway Project were delighted to each be presented with a cheque for £5,000.76.
In order to raise funds, the former Mayor and Sheriff hosted a variety of successful charity events throughout their year in office, including a Beer & Skittles night, a Shimmer & Sparkle Ball, a Barn Dance & traditional Sunday Lunch.
The former Mayor and Sheriff would like to offer their sincere thanks to all the local businesses, groups and individuals who supported their fundraising activities and for their wonderful generosity towards these two worthy causes.
