Mayor and Sheriff's Charity Cheque Presentation

On Wednesday 10 July, the former Mayor of Lichfield, Cllr Ann Hughes, accompanied by the former Sheriff, Adam Burns-Mace & Consort, Anthea Maou, presented cheques in the Mayor’s Parlour to representatives of their nominated charities.

During their year in office, the former Mayor and Sheriff raised a total of £10,912.88, which was equally distributed between their two chosen charities, ‘Lichfield City of Sanctuary’ & ‘St Giles Hospice’

Nigel Gann, Cathy Wood & Ali Hesari from Lichfield City of Sanctuary, along with Selina Hughes from St Giles Hospice, were delighted to be presented with their cheques for £5,456.44.

To raise funds, the former Mayor and Sheriff hosted a variety of successful charity events throughout their year in office, including a Beer & Skittles night, a Masquerade Ball, a Ceilidh Dance & Cocktail Party.

The former Mayor and Sheriff would like to offer their sincere thanks to all the local businesses, groups and individuals who supported their fundraising activities and for their wonderful generosity towards these two worthy causes.
