Winners of the Civic Christmas Card Competition 2024

Published: 13 December 2024

The Mayor of Lichfield, Cllr Sam Schafer & Sheriff, Cathy Wood, recently held a competition for local primary school children to design a Festive drawing for the City Council’s Civic Christmas card 2024.

After great deliberation, the civic party selected their favourite designs. Joint winners were selected, with a festive Gnome drawing from Emma Ballantyne (Christ Church C of E Primary School) & Cameron Woodley’s drawing of the Cathedral (The Friary High School). The Mayor commented on how difficult it was to choose from the very high standard of designs but was delighted that Emma & Cameron’s drawings will send Lichfield greetings to other civic heads across the county and Europe.

Both children were invited to the Mayor’s Parlour on Thursday 12 December to receive their winning prize from the Mayor and Sheriff. They were presented with a Waterstones book voucher and their original drawings, specially framed!

Lichfield City Council would like to thank both Christ Church C of E Primary School, Friary High School and all the staff and students involved in the project.
