Shrovetide Fair and Pancake Races - from midday, Tuesday 17 February 2026 Tuesday

Spectators can enjoy all the traditional races, including Gents, Ladies, Mascots, and 10 & under, plus a new addition for 2026 - Young Adults Races (ages 11–17).

Following the races, the Civic Party will officially open the Shrovetide Fair on Market Square, accompanied by Town Crier Adrian Holmes, who will give a celebratory shout to mark the occasion.

Registration Details:

• All entrants must pre-register by 12 noon on Friday 13 February
• No registrations will be accepted after this time
• 10 & under race age limits: minimum 6 years

We are also inviting local businesses to sponsor winners’ prizes for each race. Sponsors will receive recognition in press releases and on the day by the Town Crier.
