OPERA COMES TO LICHFIELD MARKET SQUARE!
Published: 28 April 2009

Classical and opera singer, Richard Stark
For those who were fortunate enough to see and hear Richard Stark, opera
and classical singer, on the Market Square at the Lichfield Farmers'
Market last November you will be pleased to know that he will be
returning to the Farmers' Market on Thursday 7 May, and this time
hopefully joined by a surprise Guest.
Richard has a wide vocal range, with a voice that is both compelling and
extremely versatile along with a pleasant personality.
Richard's musical background began with playing the Cello as well as
playing Guitar in a rock band. By accident he discovered a Placido
Domingo Album in the Rock section of a Record Store, which led him to a
Career in Opera singing.
Richard trained at Trinity College of Music and Morley Opera in London
and currently sings regularly in Operas and Concerts up and down the
country including Opera Holland Park and the European Chamber Opera. He
specialises in the Comedic or Lyrical roles, including Papageno (The
Magic Flute), Marcello (La Boheme), Leporello (Don Giovanni) & Vasek
(The Bartered Bride). In Oratorio he has also performed the Solos in
Mozart's Requiem and Solemn Vesper's, Raphael and Adam (Haydn's
Creation) as well as Faure's and Vivaldi's Requiem. He has also
performed over 500 times at Weddings, Corporate Events, Functions,
Festivals and the like. Anything from Concert Halls to The London
Hilton Park Lane, to Glastonbury Festival.
If you would like to hear Richard again, or for the first time if you
missed him before, please come along to Lichfield Market Square between
11 am to 2 pm and enjoy the experience. There will also be an
opportunity to purchase one of his many CD's along with the regular
scrumptious variety of fresh produce from local producers.
