The Mayor, Councillor Mark Warfield and Sheriff, Councillor Mrs Norma Bacon are hosting a Charity Curry and Beer Night on Friday, 24 October 2008 from 7.30pm in the historic surroundings of the Guildhall. This promises to be a gastronomic delight brought to you from local suppliers: The Civic duo have enlisted the support of Lichfield's own Celebrity Chef, Abdul Salam of Eastern Eye fame to produce an interesting buffet to tantalise taste buds. To accompany the feast and slake the thirst, two local, award winning companies: Beowulf Brewing Company, based at Chasewater and Buzzards Valley Vineyard based in Drayton Bassett will be supplying fine ales and wines to accompany the meal. Tickets are priced at £12, which includes a complimentary drink and free entry into a draw for a bottle of champagne.

Money raised will support Voluntary Transport for the Disabled and Talking Newspapers for the Blind.
