Lichfield City Council's Youth Consultative Group are presenting a series of musical events featuring young jazz musicians from around the area, to be held in the Guildhall, Lichfield.

YCG organises events around the year for young people, its most recent successes being the Livewire gigs, where young, local rock bands have had the chance to perform. However, YCG is now taking a walk on the wild side and venturing into the jazz scene:

On Friday 19th September, doors will open on the Guildroom, at 7.00 pm for the first of three, free jazz nights. The first act is a young jazzy band, Funktional who already have a number of prestigious gigs under their belt including the 2008 Jazz and Blues Festival held earlier this year.

YCG would also like to hear from young jazz musicians interested in taking part in future events the dates booked are 21 November and 23 January.
