Mayor and Sheriff's Charity Cheque Presentation

On Thursday, 10 July, the former Mayor of Lichfield, Cllr Sam Schafer, accompanied by the former Sheriff, Cathy Wood, and Consort, Nigel Gann, presented cheques in the Mayor’s Parlour to representatives of their nominated charities.
During their year in office, the former Mayor and Sheriff raised a total of £5,688.89, which was equally distributed between their two chosen charities: Staffordshire Blood Bikes and Lichfield Foodbank.
Chris Hyde from Blood Bikes and Ann Schwarzenbach from Lichfield Foodbank were delighted to receive their cheques for £2,844.45 each.
To raise funds, the former Mayor and Sheriff hosted a variety of successful charity events throughout their year in office, including a Quiz Night, Masquerade Ball, Ceilidh Dance and a Sunday Lunch.
The former Mayor and Sheriff would like to offer their sincere thanks to all the local businesses, groups, and individuals who supported their fundraising activities and showed such wonderful generosity towards these two worthy causes.
